Vodacom celebrates Summer Campaign Winners in the Eastern Cape.

The atmosphere inside the Vodacom store at Greenacres in Gqeberha was electric on Tuesday afternoon the 31st of March, as Vodacom Eastern Cape hosted a special engagement to celebrate winners from its highly successful Summer Campaign.

 

The room, glowing in vibrant red Vodacom branding, was filled with joyous faces as winners, Vodacom staff and members of the media gathered to witness the official handover moments that marked a life-changing chapter for several lucky customers.

 

As The Konvenient Magazine, we had the opportunity to speak with Vodacom Eastern Cape Marketing Specialist, Queeny Diko, who shared insights into how the nationwide campaign captured the imagination of customers across the country.

 

Explaining how easy it was for customers to participate, Queeny said the campaign was designed so that everyday Vodacom activity could turn into a winning moment.

 

“It was super easy to win,” she explained. “Every time customers bought airtime, data or bundles, or paid their Vodacom bill, they automatically got entries into the draw. Plus, there were instant prizes available on the My Vodacom App, so simply by staying connected, customers stood a chance to win big.”

Customers could also increase their chances of winning through various engagement points. These included playing the V-Up game on the VodaPay App, participating through the USSD platform (*133#), purchasing Summer Deals across Vodacom channels, activating SIM cards at retailers such as Pep and Ackermans, or engaging through recharge activities and contract upgrades.

 

The campaign created waves nationally, ultimately producing a remarkable group of winners and generating excitement among Vodacom customers across the country.

 

The Eastern Cape itself had plenty to celebrate. Eight winners from the province each walked away with 1 million VodaBucks, unlocking access to products, experiences, and exclusive rewards through the VodaPay app.

 

For Vodacom, however, the most memorable part of the campaign was witnessing the human stories behind the wins.

 

“These moments are very emotional and very inspiring,” Queeny shared. “For many winners, the prizes arrived at the perfect time, helping families, supporting small projects, or allowing people to treat themselves for the first time in years. As Vodacom, we love being part of these genuine, life-changing celebrations.”

Among those celebrating were Eastern Cape winners Aphelele Kalipa and Bianca Titus, who admitted the news came as a complete surprise.

 

Still processing their incredible fortune, the winners encouraged others to remain hopeful and keep participating in future campaigns.

 

“Just hop into it and keep on playing,” they said with excitement. “Even when you feel like you don’t have time or things aren’t going your way, don’t give up. Keep playing because one day it might be your lucky day to win something life-changing.”

 

As the celebrations wrapped up in the red-lit room filled with laughter and applause, Vodacom reminded customers that while the Summer Campaign may have come to an end, more opportunities to reward loyal users are always on the horizon.
