GQEBERHA, EASTERN CAPE – Fashion once again proved that it can be a powerful force for good as the Voice of Courage Fashion Show brought together style, creativity and social impact at Boardwalk ICC on Friday, 14 August.
Hosted by Boardwalk Hotel and Casino in partnership with Camelot Spa, the initiative raised R66,600, with Yokhuselo Haven and the Community Chest of the Eastern Cape each receiving R33,300.
The evening celebrated local creative talent while shining a spotlight on organisations working to create meaningful change in communities across Nelson Mandela Bay.
“This year’s Voice of Courage Fashion Show reminded us that when we come together with a shared purpose, we can make a tangible difference,” said Sisulu Madondo, Boardwalk General Manager. “We are incredibly proud of the generosity shown by our guests, partners, designers, performers and everyone who contributed to making this evening possible. The funds raised will support organisations doing important work in our communities.”
Yokhuselo Haven, established in 1988 as Nelson Mandela Bay’s first shelter for women and children affected by domestic abuse, provides safety, care, counselling and skills development to vulnerable women and children.

The Community Chest of the Eastern Cape supports sustainable community development initiatives and organisations working to improve the lives of people across the region.
The 2026 Voice of Courage Fashion Show runway featured collections from Braemore Design, Carlos Fritz, JaSi Studio, NDIMBI Clothing and Nastassja L Creations, with models from Premiere Models.
Guests were also entertained by live performances, including an appearance by Robin Pieters, while Lucia Mtshaka-Ntshona served as the evening’s Master of Ceremonies.
For the organisers, the success of this year’s event reinforces the importance of using established platforms and partnerships to create meaningful community impact.
The Voice of Courage Fashion Show has grown into a signature Women’s Month initiative for Boardwalk and Camelot Spa, building on the success of previous editions. In 2025, the event raised R60,000 for Yokhuselo Haven, demonstrating the continued commitment to supporting the organisation and the vulnerable women and children it serves.
“The Voice of Courage is ultimately about people,” added Madondo “It is about celebrating courage, creating awareness and using what we have – in this case, fashion, creativity and entertainment – to support those who need it most. We are grateful to everyone who helped turn this year’s event into another meaningful contribution to our community.”
The organisers extend their sincere thanks to the designers, models, performers, production teams, sponsors, media partners, guests and supporters who helped bring the 2026 Voice of Courage Fashion Show to life.
