“Started during lockdown Level 4, I am in aspiring chef with passion into cooking and recipe creation. The process of producing Mayonnaise is quite a fascinating area, it has exposed us to a lot researching and we are passionate about it, it is more than just mayo we offer, we offer an experience of how handcrafted mayo taste, it is divine and everyone should try it”.
In starting, what were your challenges and how did you overcome them? "Logistics issues, unable to reach all South African provinces and we then branched our feet into e-commerce for online shopping".

Since you have commenced what kept you going in times where sales were not always good? "Constant need to understand what we could be doing better, when sales are not high as expected. We are always positive that households do not need supply immediately. We understand our business product sales spikes during month ends".
People who are not where you at – where can they get your products? Are there any retail stores with your product thus far? Yes, there are - If in Pretoria, Waterkloof shopping centre: Corner shop. If in Johannesburg North, Sloane Square, Sandton: Roast Republic. If in Johannesburg East, Edenvale, Red Door Café. If not in Gauteng, you can order online: www.handmadebykona.co.za.

Please share your challenges since lockdown and plans to bounce back and succeed after lockdown. "Increasing of orders and constant need to upscale our production capacity. Product access in all provinces: So we are planning to plant our feet in all provinces and set a mark on digital platforms so to conform to new ways of buying".
