The reality is our beautiful South Africa is currently drowning under the leadership who speaks but never walks accountability. In the past 26 years all we see is the increasing number of frustrated citizens from both the black and the white community. Not only are South Africans frustrated but they are angry at how the hope after 1994 elections has turned into a shame and vanished.
We spoke to Jarrete Petzer, an active citizen who decided not to wait for the government or the celebrities to demand change but took a bold step by first creating an open space through the popular #ImStaying group on Facebook where ordinary South Africans from different backgrounds shares stories that gives every citizen a reason to stay in the country with hope that things will get better one day.
The man has recently started the MOVE ONE MILLION group which is also growing everyday not only on Facebook but with his passion for a better South Africa he has taken the movement to streets by visiting different communities to share the group’s mission and vision, and also to mobilise fellow South Africans to start the peaceful protests to change the current election method to a new DIRECT election method where citizens will be able to choose leaders who are morally responsible and accounts for their actions.
He shared all about the movement and the reason why he is in Port Elizabeth on the podcast below.
