Maggie Mpitso is a 23 year old who is currently residing in Bloemfontein and owner of Lisatone.
“I started Lisatone in the year 2019, strangers compliments inspired Lisatone. People constantly complimented me about how great I smell. I was a student at the time and I couldn’t afford the expensive bottles so I sold what I was using. As the business grew I added clothes and eventually switched to better quality and packaging, we’ve also added a range of Arabic scents".
What challenges you faced when you started your business and how did you overcome them? "I started as a street vendor, selling perfumes outside the University of The Free State. Ignoring people’s negative comments and laughs was really challenging but God gave me such supportive parents, my parents are unbelievable and I thank God for their lives. Praying and crying to my parents is honestly what I do when it gets tough. I always wait on God for His direction and He is faithful".

What does Lisatone offers, and are your products available in any retails stores? “Lisatone offers custom made clothing for men and women as well as perfumes. Our products are available strictly in our store in Bloemfontein, on our instagram page and our website".
Lisatone is inviting Fashion Designers to submit their work – is it a national call and when is the due date and also share the motive behind the call? "This project is really dear to me and I pray it is seen by people who are hungry for more. It is a national call, the due date is the 28th of February 2021. I am still knocking on doors I believe God will open for me and I feel where he has given me power to give and lead, I will do exactly that without fail. Fashion is a difficult industry there’s a billion of us out there, I just want to share the foundation I have and assist upcoming brands and designers with solidifying theirs and being a step closer to their dreams".
Lastly, lockdown was not good for most businesses – but as an individual how did you made sure you keep sane? “Covid is a nightmare and I pray God does not overlook our cries. I kept sane by burdening God and my parents with my worries. There’s always plans to do and be better but you would have keep watching, I sadly cannot disclose anything as of yet”.
