African Fashion Week, hosts a successful emerging models casting for their 2026 season.

Johannesburg, South Africa - African Fashion Week (AFW) hosted its model casting for the 2026 Season on Saturday, 21 March, at the Wakanda Gallery in Sandton. The event saw over 100 aspiring models audition for spots in the upcoming shows, scheduled to take place from 7-9 May 2026.


The model casting led by the Jordan Legacy Management Team was seamless and extremly effective to the teams aim for the day. The day began at 9 am and ran until 2 pm, and it was a buzzing hub of energy and excitement.


Mandela Square witnessed a sea of gorgeous faces dressed in all black. CEO Mpho Mogotsi and Creative Director Shingai Nyagweta were

impressed with the talent on display, with Mpho commenting, "Africa is incredibly talented, and our time is now."

The atmosphere at the Wakanda Gallery was electric, with models supporting and encouraging each other as they prepared for their turn on the catwalk. "It was amazing to see the models hyping each other up and creating content together, " said one of the organizers.


The AFW team is now busy reviewing the auditions and preparing for call backs. The 2026 Season promises to be bigger and better than ever.
