Nonelela Gwija was born, bred and buttered in Khayelitsha Cape Town. She is currently studying marketing through Unisa as part time and her love for makeup started at a very young age because she grew up in a home full of women. But she only started using it when she started working and could get herself the products. She then realized makeup is a form of art and she was very good in drawing growing up but because she didn't practice the skill well she ended up losing it completely but found it in makeup again which makes her very happy.
“Since I started my makeup work I have grew so well and recommended by friends to their friends and that made me grew in this business. My greatest makeup moment was definitely doing Busiswa the gqom queen makeup. She is so professional and humble as well. I have also worked with Zahara and Babalwa Mneno”.
What did you do to help you cope during lockdown? “I did a few make up looks during lockdown practiced a lot of eye looks as well and came out of my comfort zone makeup but honestly I was also going through a lot mentally which made me take a break on a lot of things. I was also studying a lot during lockdown which helped my academics in a positive way”.
What do you get up to on your spare time and where do you see yourself in 5 years time? “When I am not busy with my makeup work I like to go out with friends or attend family gatherings, but other than that I spend time doing makeup clips to post on my Youtube channel. In 5 years I see myself working on any digital platform because I love technology. Will probably be in digital marketing because that's where I see myself professionally. And obviously as a content creator that will probably have a big name by then on YouTube, God willingly and will probably living the life I manifesting now”.
Lastly, your favorite makeup products? "It has to be a MAC studio fix foundation and gold deposit highlighter. Those are my top two, and every women should own them".
